Jim Roberts brings a wealth of experience from the salon industry to J Roberts Salon. When asked about his contributions to the salon, he stated, “I notice the fine details that many tend to overlook. I’ve always believed in stepping into the shoes of our salon clients, considering every aspect of their experience—what do they see, smell, hear, and feel when they enter and also depart from J Roberts Salon?”

I take great joy in cultivating a salon environment where stylists can flourish and genuinely enjoy their work and each other every single day.”
Jim’s impressive background includes over 20 years in education with ConAir Corporation, including Rusk and BaByliss Pro, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the globally recognized BaByliss Pro Education team. There, he served as Global Show and Education Director.
As a member of the Rusk Creative Team, Jim has showcased his talents on stages throughout the United States and internationally. With over 25 years of education specializing in textured cutting and short hair, along with expertise in presentation skills, precision haircutting, and multidimensional color, Jim has endless possibilities to offer for your next salon visit.
While behind the chair, Jim is approachable and modest about his extensive educational background and experience. He’s always willing to share knowledge openly with other stylists who are eager to learn. Jim is continually focused on delivering a salon experience that rivals the finest salon establishments in any city. He provides personalized consultations that tailor haircuts and color specifically to your needs.
Outside of salon work, Jim dedicates his time to educating stylists nationwide through his educational company, SHEARPOLICE. He remains informed about the latest in high-quality shears and top-notch tools in the hairstyling industry.
During his downtime, Jim enjoys working on home projects and spending quality time with his wife, Maggie, and daughter, Jolynn Grace, whether it’s roller skating at the rink or biking along the greenway, and he never passes on an opportunity to enjoy one of Roanoke’s fantastic restaurants.
